In the Spring 2012 Kew’s Royal Botanical Gardens asked us to produce an installation for their summer festival ‘Incredible Edibles’. Working with artist Kirsti Davies we produced a fifty foot banqueting table with edible plants and bespoke crockery. It proved to be one of the most popular parts of the festival and a fun and educational focal point for the visitors.

We knew the the table would have to withstand both the English weather and the destructive interest of young children so we used green oak for it’s strength and hardiness. We used traditional joinery techniques both for their visual aesthetics and simple strong joints with no modern screws to catch fingers. After a very successful season we are working with Kew Gardens again on this years festival.
